Welcome to Rolled Alloys, Los Angeles, where Carol Plana, the General Manager with nearly two decades of experience, invites you to explore our west coast facility. With just under 50,000 square feet of space, we have been serving a diverse clientele, with a primary focus on aviation and space exploration.
In our receiving bay, we meticulously inspect all incoming materials. This is where our commitment to quality begins. Using cutting-edge technology, such as the PMI gun, we verify material chemistry, ensuring it meets the highest standards. We also weigh the material and confirm that the dimensions and specifications align perfectly. Only after this rigorous inspection, are the materials organized on our storage racks, ready for the next steps in their transformation.
What sets our Los Angeles facility apart is our extensive inventory of titanium in various forms, including bar, plate, and sheet. We are also known for carrying intermediate forging sizes, both rectangular and plate forms. The uniqueness of our service lies in our ability to customize materials, cutting them to any customer’s specific size and even shaping custom designs as needed. Our use of plate saws ensures precision cutting, with a primary focus on titanium and specific plates tailored to customer requirements.
We have a great team here, and everybody works hard to get it right the first time. I think our customers find value because we're easy to do business with. We're really friendly and try to accommodate any special requirements that they have. We have a huge inventory here in the Los Angeles facility, so we have plenty of material that we can supply to customer requirements.
- Carol Plana
As a titanium intermediate producer, we take large titanium ingots and transform them into 14-inch RCS billet forms. We understand that customers often have specific requirements for their materials, and we are here to meet those needs. Whether it’s titanium, nickel, alloys, stainless steels, or a wide range of pH-grade materials, we’ve got you covered.
Once the materials are cut, we then conduct a PMI inspection to confirm that the alloy is accurately matching our claimed specifications. Each piece of titanium is then stenciled with essential information, including the heat lot number and the customer’s P.O. number. We pay careful attention to accommodating any special instructions our customers provide, ensuring their complete satisfaction. After this meticulous process, the bars are packaged with the utmost care and sent on their way to our valued customers.
While we primarily focus on bar stocking, we also offer titanium plates. For customers who require specific cut sizes rather than a standard 12-foot random length, we have a dedicated area where our skilled operators cut materials to the exact specifications. They perform an initial cut and a test piece to ensure the saw is operating at the correct speed before cutting the material. The result is precisely cut pieces with no sharp edges, prioritizing safety for our customers.
In addition to our extensive inventory, we also stock sheet products, including titanium aerospace grade 625, 718, and ALLOY X, along with 321. We offer full sheets measuring 36 or 48 by 120 inches. Our cutting-edge shear allows us to tailor large sheets to customer-specific sizes, ensuring a perfect fit for their unique requirements.
Efficiency is key in our shipping process. We work with multiple carriers to ensure prompt delivery. One of our carriers even parks its trailer on-site daily to expedite the process, making it more convenient for both parties. All our shipments are carefully placed in special packaging, using tubes and custom wood packaging to ensure the materials arrive in perfect condition.
For our international customers, we offer export packaging that meets global standards, including IPPC wood stamping for overseas shipments. This attention to detail ensures that our materials are ready to travel the world and reach their destination safely.
With our unwavering commitment to precision, quality, and customer satisfaction, we serve a diverse range of industries. If you’re seeking a reliable raw material supplier, we invite you to consider us. Contact us today at 310-343-6000.
